*WON HER*

My bid for *Greatalmightyqueen's yearling auction :dummy:

and yes...she came out more seal bay than dark sooty but I like her anyway :XD:

oh and the name came from Ray Charles' album Genius Sings the Blues... Ray was born in Georgia where Dixie Union is situated... and then one generation back the sire is Dixieland Band... yeah, my brain works on tangents :XD:

Name: Sing The Blues
Barn Name: Blue
Breed: Thoroughbred
Age: yearling
Gender: Mare
Colour: Dark Bay (Sooty)
Markings: stripe, NF sock, NH stocking, OH sock
Genotype: Ee Aa nSty
Height: 15.2hh
Temperament: It has been said that a horse moves as if his/her heart always hears music, well Blue is the personification of this saying. Her movement is light and springy and she always looks like she’s dancing. To her life is a party and she finds the fun in everything, which is somewhat of a woe to handlers and riders as she hears some otherwise silent cue and erupts in some expression of joy - usually in some form of bucks, prances and/or rears. Despite this slight unpredictability, Blue has the uncanny ability to bring a smile to anyone’s face no matter how bad the day’s been, like she’s one huge bundle of happiness that she’s ever-willing to share her joy. Absolutely adores being fussed over and will do anything to please those who give her love.
Discipline: turf flat
Ideal Distance: 8-10f
Running Position: unknown yet
Sire: Dixie Union
Dam: Gloria Goodbody (Arch)
Owner: Mirkwood Acres
Breeder: Brazen Fields

ugh this story may be rewritten at some stage as it's rather bad :XD:

Auction time! The two important members of the Mirkwood Team and George traveled over to Brazen Fields to have a look at the yearlings up for sale. ‘Oooohs’ and ‘Aaaahs’ were given where they were due and when all was said and done… well, when did that ever happen? As usual Tom and George went head to head, Tom wanting the Rock Hard Ten colt, George the Curlin filly. The fact that Sarah had the final say was an insignificant fact to the two men.

Sarah stopped suddenly, causing George to crash into her. For once she didn’t take notice or throw some remark. Standing alertly, dark eyes keenly observing her surroundings, nostrils flaring - the dark bay filly just demanded unwavering attention.

“I want her.”

George and Tom exchanged a look – Sarah had an uncanny knack for choosing mental horses… Demon being the first to spring to mind, both men have had to deal with that mare and no one was looking for more repeats than her foals. Fears were proved correct when the filly, for no apparent reason, rose up on her hind legs and pranced about her handler.

Sarah found a smile playing on her face when the filly spun to a standstill, ears focused on her new admirers. The men behind her soon found themselves smiling too. There was no ill intent in those big brown eyes, just an eternal, pure joy. To say the trio floated the rest of the way would be an understatement.

Needless to say the happiness had infected the team and nothing could wipe the smiles away… unless of course the filly didn’t come home with them.
